Plantain
Welcomes You
Plantain is a low-lying feminine plant. According to the
ancient earth wisdom, plants close to the earth are intended
to help you feel at home in your environment.
Plantain is found everywhere in urban areas, between sidewalk
cracks, at sports fields, around playgrounds and schools.
This makes plantain useful to soothe skin that has become
dry from urban living, especially at the feet and ankles.
Plantain can be used as a massage cream especially
after playing, gardening and athletic activity.
Plantain is gentle enough for use on baby’s skin. It can
be used generously on your baby’s bottom after bathing and
diaper changes.
Ingredients:
plantain leaf cold infused olive oil, beeswax is added to make
the cream.
Fun
Facts
When Europeans were exploring the Americas after Columbus,
plantain followed them everywhere. Because of this, some
natives nicknamed plantain “white man’s foot”.
Keepers of the ancient wisdom of Mother Earth rapidly added
plantain to their diet and healing chest to keep in touch
with the Creator’s agenda during the difficult years that
have followed colonization.
“Paradise lies at the feet of mothers” is an
ancient Persian expression.

Dare
to eat what is at your feet!
Plantain can be found
all over the world, especially in places developed
by humans. Plantain can be found around play grounds
and schools, in sidewalk cracks, back yards and open
fields. Make sure to choose plantain from a clean
source, from areas away from traffic, unsprayed by
chemicals and not frequented by dogs.
Plantain leaves are edible
in moderation and a couple of leaves can be added
to salads. Once your palate is familiar with its taste,
you may want to consider adding a plantain leaf or
two to a soup or to use the leaves as wrapping for
cooked grains. |
